Zu.Schreibung – Sound Exploration in the Sculpture depot

Using a synthesiser of his own design, composer Karlheinz Essl explores the museum’s sculpture depot and the sculptures by Robert Tauber on display there. Using sounds never heard before, he makes his mark on this gigantic space with its extraordinary acoustics and sets it vibrating. In doing so, the depot becomes an integral part of a hybrid instrument that combines analogue electronics with acoustic resonators.

Instead of the usual mixing desks, amplifiers and loudspeakers, Essl uses mobile equipment reduced to the bare essentials, with which he embarks on a sound journey through space and time, feeling his way and exploring. The audience will witness a unique event, specially tailored to this location and the artworks on display there, which cannot be performed anywhere else.

Hellmut Bruch – 90 Years

From August, the Museum Liaunig will be dedicating a retrospective curated by Günther Dankl to the artist Hellmut Bruch to mark his 90th birthday.
